What a strange conjunction of celebrations today. It’s Mother’s Day and your heavenly anniversary- again. It happened this way the very day we lost you.
It seems so unfair to celebrate Mom and you on the same day- it hurts less and less but the gaping hole of Tom Martin is still there. Grief is in an interesting phenomenon- it never goes away per se…we just learn to live around it. However, there’s a profound sense of gratitude within the loss you know? You were in such pain, your body had betrayed you BUT you hung on til you could say your goodbyes to everyone- who does that?! You did.
You lived such an amazing life- there are tributes to you everywhere and in everything. You left a mark on this world and on each one of your family. We will never forget the 8th of May as long as we live.
We love you so much.
