Letters to my younger self

Little one,

Life has a way of making you go through things that you need to in order to grow and thrive.

Be brave with your life.

There are no shortcuts or cheats.

It will be painful, sometimes for a while, but my darling, it will be worth it.

No one goes through anything in a vacuum; even though it might feel that way to them.

We’re all in this together and none of us are making it out alive. Ask for help, there is a quiet confidence in those that are humble enough to reach out and ask.

The sunshine will always brighten your mood, no matter how low.

Get near or in a body of water, it will bring you back to yourself, no matter how far you’ve floated out to sea.

Margaritas with lime and salt are your jam, but tequila is not your friend.

Some days your emotions will rule you, but don’t let yourself get in a rut. It’s okay to sit with them for a while, just don’t dwell in the Dark place.

Let people in- for goodness sake, let people see you, the real you. The one without all the walls and the body armor. It’s worth it, I promise.

Don’t let what other people think, affect you- don’t let someone else dictate what they think is best for YOUR life- it’s yours alone; revel in it!

Don’t worry so much (Matthew 6:25-27)- you cannot both worry and trust in God, they are mutually exclusive- it’s one or the other- feed the one that will sustain you

Live in the moment

Love hard & love well

Enjoy the journey
